Pet friendly beach vacation rentals are in good supply in Florida. Here are some of my favorites.

All of these Destin Florida vacation rentals are pet-friendly and 15 of the 20 rentals have separately fenced yards that are perfect for active dogs.
A non-refundable fee of $150 per week covers any size or breed (except pit bulls). Add $75 for each additional pet. This includes free use of a kennel (crate) for each pet (while you’re away from the home) and standard cleaning. (Extra fees kick in for excessive shedding and cleaning up the yard.) You must certify that your pet is up to date on shots at the time of booking.
While pets are not allowed on the beach, the sidewalks along Scenic Highway 98, which runs parallel to the beaches, are great for walking leashed pets.

Fort Myers Beach
All but one of these Fort Myers Beach cottages and villas are pet friendly beach vacation rentals. Some have fenced dog friendly yards.
“We always ask for the dogs' names and make up goodie bags with biscuits and some poo bags. At Christmas time, we baked homemade dog biscuits and took them to all the dogs,” says Judith Lee Hemstreet.
The non-refundable pet fee ranges from $100 to $250, depending on the size of unit and pet. Pets are not allowed in the pool.
But all beach access points have biodegradable bags -- for the obligatory “stoop and scoop”. Dogs must be on a leash on the beach.

Pets are considered on an individual basis. Non-refundable pet fee varies according to size and breed of pet. The yard is spacious, but not fenced. Dogs must be on a leash (no more than 8 feet in length) outside the house and Sanibel Island Florida law requires that you clean up after your pet.

Cedar Key on Florida’s Nature Coast
Well-behaved pets are welcome at this Cedar Key Florida vacation rental; the $10 pet fee does not cover extra cleaning charges for accidents, so cover the furniture with pet sheets (provided) and leave pets in a crate when you leave.
The complex where this Cedar Key Florida vacation rental is located has a designated area for walking dogs by the dock. (Bags for picking up after your pet are provided.) There's a nice beach for walking dogs at 1st and G Streets with a different view of the keys and more room to run.
